Road Management Services operate and maintain the A1M Junction 14 (Alconbury) to Junction 17 (Peterborough) on behalf of National Highways. There have a major maintenance (surfacing) scheme planned to commence on 2nd September 2024 for an estimated 6 weeks.
What are the benefits to road users?
The work will provide a safer and smoother journey for road users. They will also take the opportunity to carry out any routine work; gully cleaning, vegetation clearance, bridge maintenance etc. Doing this during the planned closures will reduce the need for future closures.
What work is being carried out?
Carriageway resurfacing of various lanes of the A1M between Jct14 (Alconbury) and Junction 17 (Peterborough) in both northbound and southbound directions.
When is the work taking place?
2nd September to 10th October 2024
Traffic restrictions – check before you travel
Monday to Thursday overnight Road closures from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs
Friday overnight Road closures from 21:00hrs to 06:00hrs
