The Parish Council have been very concerned with the adverse impacts created by the discharge of water from the new Great Haddon Development site on the village. Alongside Middle Level Commissioners the Parish Council believes that the drainage system in the Waterslade Road/Wykes Road area does not have the capacity to receive and transfer the flow and places the community at an increase risk of flooding. We also feel that the discharge has resulted in deterioration of the local aquatic environment in including the pond at Pound Lane.
The Parish Clerk with the help of the Vice Chairman of the Council, Councillor Andrew Wood has been pursing a resolution on this matter for many months now and will continue to do so. North West Cambridgeshire MP Shailesh Vara has been made aware of this issue and has visited the site along with District Councillor Kevin Gulson and County Councillor Mac McGuire, we are grateful for their support in this matter.
